Wow, Valentine's Day is soon approaching. Christmas is over but I still have my mother's artificial tree in the back of my car...along with various sleds, jumper cables and boots. I would like to say that I'm a typical Minnesotan but think I'm anything but typical. A friend of mine told me that every time he sees the latest project in the back of my car he think "gypsy".

I will be going back to work after a long sabbatical from nursing. I shouldn't be, but am amazed at the grace and favor God has with me....not a good time to be job hunting and yet I found one that will fit my life and family perfectly...I'm thankful!!! Anyway it's part time and I will still be able to be creative!! I'm blessed.

Here are a few of my latest creations...

We had a lovely snowstorm! Just in time to give a white Christmas...think it's cold enough that the snow will stick. School was canceled so it was a perfect opportunity for my son and I to decorate the 3 little trees that I drug out of my mother's basement. I was amazed that my son was so "into it" this year. We had fun and while we were decorating watched bits of "Earnest Saves Christmas" on tv...all amongst falling snow and the sweet fragrance of Christmas candles. Good memories were built and old ones recalled as we pulled out decorations from the past. We haven't had access to the decorations for a couple of years now so it was rather fun to pull them out...see pic above!

I'm just so thankful this year for friends, feeling connected, being loved and genuinely loving in return ...and a sense of belonging.

Merry Christmas and I hope the New Year brings many blessings and closeness to God...blessed and happy is the man whom God draws near!

Suprise Birthday Party

He was completely duped. He thought he was going to his sis's house to help move furniture! Ha!

Church on the Trail

Last beautiful day for awhile so I skipped church and went on a hike Sunday morning. I love the smell of fall mixed with pine and cedar. It was a lovely walk... time to be quiet, feast my eyes, and pray. Funny how life can be put into perspective with a little quiet time with God.
